Quick answer
How to get a Sky Mobile PAC code
| You want to | Text this | To |
|---|---|---|
| Keep your number | PAC and your date of birth, for example PAC 17041987 | 65075 |
| Leave without your number | STAC and your date of birth | 75075 |
| Check the cost first | INFO and your date of birth | 85075 |
Sky asks for the date of birth as DDMMYYYY, and texts you a security code to check you are the account holder. Codes last 30 days. With more than one Sky SIM you cannot use the text route: go to sky.com/leavesky or call 03300 412 524. Verified

We don't yet know how Sky Mobile's phone menu is structured, so we're not going to guess. If you work it out, we'd like to hear from you.
Before you call
What to know first
Do not cancel your Direct Debit. Sky’s own cancelling page says further payments may still be due. Verified
Sky gives two different cooling-off periods. Its help page says 31 days from delivery; its February 2026 Sky Mobile contract says 14 days. If you are inside a month from delivery, act within 14 days to be safe, or ask Sky which applies to you. Verified
Sky’s contact page shows no number up front. It sends you through help guides first and gives a number at the end. The number here is the one Sky publishes on its leaving page. Verified

How to actually leave
Keep your numberText PAC and your date of birth to 65075
A PAC ports your number to the new provider. Give it to them, not to Sky Mobile.
Start freshText STAC and your date of birth to 75075
A STAC closes the account without taking your number with you.
Date of birth as DDMMYYYY, for example PAC 17041987. The text back includes your contract end date, any early termination charge and what is left on any device loan. You can still ask for a PAC up to 31 days after cancelling by calling Sky. Sky says that if a PAC issued on a cancelled number is not used in time, the number is lost. Verified
What it costs
Notice, exit fees and the handset
Notice31 days
Sky’s contract lets you end it on or after the end of the minimum term with 31 days’ notice, unless you move your number to another provider, in which case it ends on the transfer date.
Leaving earlyThe monthly charge, less Sky’s savings, for the time left.
Sky takes the monthly charge, deducts the business costs it saves and a discount for being paid early, then multiplies by the time left in the minimum term. Its own mobile example: a £11 plan becomes £8.97, and four months left makes £35.88. Sky says changing plan before you cancel may reduce the charge.
Your handsetYour phone repayments carry on after you cancel.
Sky says the device credit agreement is separate from your plan, with its own dates. If there is still money left to pay, you pay it off or the monthly repayments carry on. Sky also offers to take the device back and put an amount towards what is left.
Your rights
What you're entitled to
- Your code has to arrive within a minute. For residential customers Ofcom requires the losing provider to send a PAC or STAC no later than one minute after the request. Beware of guides quoting two hours or two working days; those are the rules for business customers. Verified
- Text is not the only route they must offer. Providers must give at least three free ways to get a code: by text, online through your account, and by phone. Text and online have to be available at all times. Codes last 30 days. Verified
- Switching kills the notice period. If you move using a code, your old contract terminates on the working day the switch completes, and your provider must not bill you for any notice period running past that date. This is the single most valuable rule here. It does not, however, cancel an early termination charge if you are still inside your minimum term. Verified
- They must tell you what you still owe on the handset. The switching information sent with your code must say whether the handset sits on a separate contract, and either what is still payable on it after you move or the date you stop paying. It must also give your total final charge as a single figure. Verified
- The switch itself is quick, and free. Porting must complete within one working day, any loss of service must not exceed one working day, and no charge may be made for taking your number with you. Your number stays portable for at least a month after you leave. Verified
One rule is worth more than any script: switch with a code and your provider cannot bill you for a notice period beyond the switch date. The full explainer, including what it does not cover, is here.
