Privacy policy

Beat My Bill Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales, company number 17309475. We are the data controller for the information described here. Contact: hello@beatmybill.co.uk.

If you sign up to Bill Watch, we collect:

• Your email address — required, so we can send the reminder.
• Your renewal month — optional, so the reminder arrives at a useful time.
• The page you signed up from and the date you signed up — so we can tell which pages are useful and evidence your consent.
• Whether you confirmed your subscription.

That is the complete list. We do not ask for your name, address, policy details, or anything about your insurer. We have no user accounts and no login.

Consent, under Article 6(1)(a) UK GDPR, and consent under PECR for the marketing email itself.

We operate double opt-in. Submitting the form does not subscribe you — it sends one email asking you to confirm. If you don't click the link, you never enter the list and we delete the unconfirmed record. That confirmation click is the consent we rely on, and we keep a record of when it happened.

We send you a reminder email shortly before your renewal month telling you it's time to shop around, plus occasional updates about the site. We do not sell, rent, or share your email address with anyone, and we do not pass it to any insurer.

We use three processors. Each is bound by a data processing agreement and handles your data only on our instructions.

This site sets no cookies and runs no advertising trackers. There is no cookie banner because there is nothing to consent to. If we later add analytics it will be a privacy-preserving, cookie-free tool, and this page will be updated before it goes live.

• Unconfirmed signups: deleted after 30 days if you never click the confirmation link.
• Confirmed subscribers: kept until you unsubscribe, and then deleted within 30 days.
• Dormant subscribers: if you haven't opened an email from us in 24 months we delete the record.
• Server logs: retained by Vercel on their standard retention schedule and not used to build any profile of you.

Every email carries a one-click unsubscribe link in the footer and in the message headers. You don't need to log in or explain yourself. You can also email hello@beatmybill.co.uk and we'll remove you.

Under UK GDPR you have the right to access your data, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to its use, withdraw consent at any time, and receive a copy in a portable format. Email hello@beatmybill.co.uk and we'll respond within one month. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

Beat My Bill Ltd is registered with the Information Commissioner's Office as a data controller. Our registration number is C1978012. You can look it up on the ICO's public register at ico.org.uk.
