Sky and Plusnet need 14 days. BT, Virgin Media, TalkTalk, Vodafone and EE need 30. That difference is worth knowing before you plan a switch.

You may not need to call
Since September 2024, switching broadband at the same address runs on One Touch Switch. You contact the new provider only — they handle the cancellation with your old one, and Ofcom's rules say the process must not require you to contact your existing provider or get their consent.
