Cancellations & renewals
0345 301 1648Getting to the right team
We don't yet know how Churchill's phone menu is structured, so we're not going to guess. If you work it out, we'd like to hear from you.
Before you call
The number most guides give for Churchill home does not exist. 0345 603 3551 appears nowhere on churchill.com — we checked every page in their sitemap and both policy booklets. Numbers close to it are real, which is probably how it got into circulation, but that one is not.
Churchill’s own documents disagree with each other. Their website gives 0345 301 1648 for cancellations; their current home policy booklet tells you to cancel on 0345 878 6414, which is also their claims line. Both are official. We lead with the website number because it is the topic-specific cancellations line. Verified

What you're entitled to
- Your renewal can't cost more than an equivalent new customer would pay. Under the FCA's pricing rules (PS21/5, implemented through ICOBS 6B and in force since 1 January 2022), the renewal price for the same cover through the same channel must be no higher than the equivalent new-business price. The FCA reviewed these rules in July 2025 and left them in place. Verified
- Fourteen days to change your mind. A statutory cooling-off period applies from the start of cover or from when you receive your documents, whichever is later. It applies again after each automatic renewal. Verified
- Opting out of auto-renewal is free. You can't be charged for turning it off, and you can turn it off at any time. Verified
- An admin fee applies, and Churchill will not say how much. The home policy booklet confirms a charge for the cover used plus an administration fee after the 14-day cooling-off period, then refers you to your own policy details for the figure. Nothing is published, so ask on the call. Unverified

Lines that work
"I will not be renewing — I have found the same buildings and contents cover for £X elsewhere."
General States the intention plainly.
"Can you beat my cheapest home quote?"
General Use after declining their first offer, not before.
We publish these as effective general phrasing. They are not insider scripts, and we don't claim a specific saving from using them.
